Sometimes, you wonder if God loves you as a person.
You know he loves the world but does he love you?
As in you (insert your name).
If you’ve been in doubt of God’s love for you, below are eleven signs God loves and cares about you more than you think:
11 Signs God Loves You More Than You Think
1. He encourages you through others
Encouragement is a gift.
It’s a sign of love.
It’s easier to get discouraged than be encouraged.
So if you’ve been enjoying encouragement from others, God sent them to you.
God is spirit, and while you might not see Him physically, He works through others to fulfill His desires in our lives.
God will not come down from heaven to encourage you; He sends people to achieve this purpose for Him in your life.
Encouragement comes in many forms:
a word
a look
text messages with uplifting quotes
handwritten notes that tell you how great you are
thoughtful gifts with encouraging words attached
an encouraging phone call from someone who cares about how well things are going for you
a smile
or maybe even the way someone holds your hand.
In fact, it could be reading this post.
You’re reading this because God wants to assure you of His love for you.
Encouragement might come from one person or many people, but it will help you believe in yourself and your abilities because that’s what God wants for you.
2. He provides what you need
Let me tell you a story.
Recently I was at a braider’s place to braid my hair.
And hours into it, I was hungry but couldn’t tell her.
Before I could say Jack Robinson, she offered me some fruits.
I accepted them thankfully and ate them like my life depended on them.
That incident reminded me of God’s love for me; how He is mindful of me and cares for me.
You might think it’s no big deal, but it is for me.
You know what hunger can do to a man.
So, God’s love for you is shown through how He provides what you need, no matter how simple.
When we think of the ways God shows his love, we often think only of spiritual things—things like forgiveness, grace, and peace.
However, God also shows his love by providing us with physical things essential to our well-being and success.
For example:
He provides food when we’re hungry (like in my experience)
He protects us from danger (both natural and manmade)
He gives us a place to live when we don’t have one
He provides parents who care for their children etc.
A word of caution here: If you’re in need and yet to have your needs met, it doesn’t mean God doesn’t love you.
He does. His love is constant. There’s nothing you can do to change that.
Make sure you’re asking Him for what you need.
3. You are conscious of His divine presence
You can sense His presence in your heart.
You’re a child of God and have His spirit in you, so you’re aware of His divine presence.
This may happen when you’re praying, studying the Bible, or meditating on Scripture, and thoughts come to mind that seem beyond your capacity to produce them yourself.
Even when you go about your daily activities, God seems so near.
You can sense His presence in your life.
It’s because He’s with you.
He said He would never leave us nor forsake us.
4. God hears your prayers before you even say them
God loves you more than you know.
And one of the ways He shows His love is by answering your prayers before you even say them.
This means that God knows what you need before you ask Him for it, and He knows what you will ask before you even think about it.
God sees all things, including your future and the needs of your life—before they happen (see Psalm 139:1-6).
So when we pray, He hears us before we even say anything because He already knows what we’re going to ask.
Isn’t that amazing?
5. He gave you life
You’re alive today because God loves you and wanted you to live.
It’s really that simple.
If God didn’t want you here, you wouldn’t be here.
But He does want you here. He has a purpose and plan for your life and wants to see you fulfill it.
So, He gave you life and wants to see you live it to the fullest (see John 10:10).
6. He gives you true friends who are always there for you
God’s love for you is made visible in the people that surround you.
God gives you friends who are always there for you and will help with the tough times in your life.
If you’re down, they’ll be there to pick you back up again; if your heart is broken, they’ll be there to share their own experiences and help mend it; if someone has wronged or hurt you, they’ll be there to comfort and support your side of the story.
In short, these friends will love you no matter what.
And that’s because they’re reflections of God’s love for you.
7. He gave you the ability to love others
God loves you, and He wants you to love others too.
That’s why He gives you the ability to love—so that you can love Him back and love others the way He loves you.
It’s one of the ways we show our gratitude for His love.
And it’s also how we make His love visible to others.
Think about it: when people see our love for them, they see a reflection of God’s love.
It’s like a light shining in the darkness, showing them the way to God.
8. He made you unique
One of the most important things to understand about God’s love is that He made you unique.
The Bible says, “God has made us exactly what we are and created us in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10).
This means that you were created with a specific purpose in mind!
You are also one of a kind.
As a person with your personality traits, interests, and strengths, there is no other person like you on the planet.
You occupy a space that no one else can fill—and it’s your job to fill it well!
9. He gives you the gifts and talents you need to succeed in life
God loves you, and He wants to see you succeed in life.
That’s why He gives you the gifts and talents you need to succeed!
These gifts and talents are given to you so that you can use them to make a difference in the world.
They’re also given to you so you can enjoy your life and find fulfillment in your actions.
So if you’re ever feeling down or like you’re not good enough, remember that God has given you everything you need to succeed.
All you have to do is use it.
10. His Word tells you He loves you
The Bible is the source of all truth, including the truth about God’s love for you.
Jesus said that if you abide in His word, you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free (John 8:31-32).
The Bible is also the source of all wisdom—including what it takes to know how much God loves you.
The Bible tells us that God’s love is “better than life” (Psalm 63:3), and it’s also “everlasting” (Jeremiah 31:3).
It’s a love that never fails and is always there for you—no matter what.
11. He sacrificed His Son for you
The ultimate proof of God’s love for you is that He sacrificed His Son, Jesus Christ, for your sins.
This was the greatest act of love ever known—and it was done out of pure love for you.
God didn’t have to do this; He could have simply forgiven your sins and let you go. But He didn’t.
Instead, He chose to show His love for you in the most sacrificial way possible.
And that’s because He loves you more than you could ever imagine.
These are just a few of the signs that God loves you more than you think.
There are many more ways He shows His love for us, but these are some of the most important ones.
Remember, God’s love for you is constant. It never changes, no matter what you do or don’t do.
He loves you just as much today as He did when He first created you.
And He will continue to love you always.
